Some people want practical support around a specific event or transition. A sober companion engagement can include preparation beforehand, agreed support during the event or trip, and a brief debrief afterward. The plan is tailored to the situation, schedule, location, and availability.
This support may be worth discussing for:
- A wedding, family gathering, work function, or other major event.
- A work trip or travel where alcohol or other substances may be present.
- A court date or other stressful appointment where practical, sober support would help.
- Planning ahead for triggers, transportation, boundaries, and who to contact if plans change.
Practical support with clear boundaries
Randy can help prepare a written plan, provide agreed companionship and accountability, and help navigate logistics. This is nonclinical support; it does not include legal advice or representation, treatment, emergency response, or promises about legal or recovery outcomes. Court-related support can be coordinated with the client’s attorney where appropriate.
